AIT Worldwide Logistics Joins EPA's WasteWise Program

Demonstrating its ongoing commitment in reducing its carbon footprint, conserving natural resources and protecting the environment, AIT Worldwide Logistics has joined the U.S. Environmental Agency's WasteWise Program.

Focusing on three key elements of waste reduction - waste prevention, recycling, and buying or manufacturing recycled content products - the voluntary partnership program was designed by the EPA in 1994 to help organizations implement practical methods for reducing municipal solid waste.

Extensive research has shown that conserving materials through waste prevention and recycling saves energy and reduces pollution, including emissions of greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

"The ongoing support and guidance that WasteWise has given us has allowed both organizations to accomplish common goals," said Ralph Obenauf, compliance coordinator for AIT Worldwide Logistics. "It has been a rewarding partnership that will continue the future successes of AIT's existing waste prevention activities."

In addition to WasteWise, AIT Worldwide Logistics is also a member of the EPA's SmartWaySM Transport Partnership, a program aimed to reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions within the transportation industry.
