TSA Exemption Letter

Effective immediately, AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. is exempt from the latest TSA regulation requiring all shippers to provide a government issued photo ID for air cargo, as previously published.

AIT formally outlined the new regulations with two ID options. AIT has since met the necessary criteria to qualify as a forwarder permitted to waive these initial instructions. This preferred alternative has been granted to AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. by the TSA.

However, AIT is under the legal obligation of the TSA to inform its network of industry contacts that all air cargo shipments will be subject to inspection as proposed by the Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program.

As national security continues to heighten and influence the transportation industry, it is important that AIT takes responsibility and continues to accurately communicate these changes with respect to each shipper.
