New Customs Procedures in India

INDIAN Customs has come out with a circular for 16 digit code which needs to be incorporated on the MAWB and it is Mandatory, any shipments arriving into BOMBAY without this 16 digit code on the MAWB handling and information colum is subject to penalty.

This is WEF 01.07.2007.

Attached please find the circular from Airports Authority of India addressed to all the Government departments involved with Civil Aviation and Cargo.

Please put the below code # in HANDLNG INFORMATION COLUMN on the MAWB without fail as per new Circular / rule of indian customs. 16 DIGIT CODE AABCH1588ECNBOM4. for all the MAWB with final destination BOMBAY

Failing to adhere on the above will be subject to penalty..
